The 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete made headlines when she scored the most perfect 10 in sport's history. She went on to achieve six other perfect 10 and became the most youthful Olympic all-around gold medalist, at only fourteen years of age. Not only did Nadia Comaneci attract attention from everywhere, but she also helped Romania find itself a place in the world map. This sporting icon stepped into spotlight by achieving an unachievable result, creating a legend and popularizing gymnastics as a sport across the globe. The sport also altered the perception of female athletes. The effect of her performances in the Olympics was so profound that her toe move (release) and her toe step are both named for her in the event's uneven bars. Other than the Olympics the performance of her was impressive at each of the World Championships (World Championships) as well as the European Championships. Thus, becoming one of world's most well-known and famous gymnasts. When she left for the US the "Queen Of Olympics' took up modeling as well as promoting the use of sports equipment.
